Report on  Educational Visit to Partapur Thana

Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law conducted an educational visit to Partapur Police Station for the students of B.A. LL.B. VIII Sem./4th Year so that the students may have interaction between police and judiciary regarding criminal justice administration, under the esteemed guidance of Hon’ble Justice Rajesh Chandra, Director (Former Judge, High Court of Judicature at Allahabad), and Prof. (Dr.) Reena Bishnoi, Officiating Dean, Faculty of Law.

During the visit, the students were welcomed by SO Ajay Shukla sir, who briefed them about the organizational setup and day-to-day functioning of the police station. He explained the procedure for registration of FIRs, complaint handling, and maintenance of records such as the General Diary and case files. Students were also introduced to various sections of the police station, including the duty officer desk, investigation room, women help desk, and record room. In addition to this, the students were also informed about various apps like YAKSH app, CCTNS and UP Cop, which are used by the police in maintaining the records of the offenders. The students were also informed about the collaboration of UP Police with Meta (Formerly known as Facebook) regarding any suicide posts on the online platform, so that police is informed timely and swift action is taken by the concerned authority.

The officials further explained the process of investigation, powers and duties of police officers, and the role of police in maintaining law and order. The students were also informed about public grievance mechanisms, cybercrime complaints, and safety measures adopted by the police.

An interactive session was conducted where students asked questions regarding arrest procedures, rights of accused persons, and coordination between police and courts. The police personnel shared practical experiences, which helped students gain a deeper understanding of real-life legal procedures.

The visit concluded with a vote of thanks to the police authorities for their cooperation and valuable guidance. The activity proved to be informative and beneficial, providing students with practical insights into the functioning of law enforcement agencies.
