Department of Physical Education Students Win Three Medals at All India Inter-University Wrestling Championship
The Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, has once again brought laurels to the University through the outstanding performance of its students at the All India Inter-University Wrestling Championship organized by Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University, Aligarh.
Demonstrating exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship, Amit Singh secured both a Gold Medal and a Silver Medal in his respective categories, while Jatin Kashyap earned a Bronze Medal, adding to the University’s growing legacy of sporting excellence.
The remarkable success of the athletes was achieved under the guidance, mentorship, and dedicated coaching of Dr. Deepak Raghav, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, who accompanied the team throughout the championship and played a pivotal role in their preparation, motivation, and competitive performance.
The achievement was widely appreciated by the University administration. Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, congratulated the students on their outstanding accomplishment and extended his best wishes for their future sporting endeavors. He also commended the efforts of Dr. Deepak Raghav for his commitment and guidance in nurturing talented athletes and helping them achieve success at the national level.
Adding further glory to the University, both medal-winning wrestlers have now been selected to participate in the National Wrestling Championship, which is scheduled to be held in Gujarat from 29 May to 2 June 2026. The athletes will represent Swami Vivekanand Subharti University and compete against some of the finest wrestlers from across the country.
The achievement reflects the University’s commitment to promoting sports excellence and providing opportunities for students to excel in competitive sports. Faculty members, students, and staff of the Department of Physical Education expressed immense pride in the accomplishments of Amit Singh and Jatin Kashyap and extended their heartfelt wishes for a successful performance in the upcoming national championship.
