In observance of the International Day of Yoga 2026, Maharishi Aurobindo Subharti College and Hospital of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (MASCHNYS), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a Common Yoga Protocol Session in the Department of Education on 18 June 2026. The activity was conducted in line with the International Day of Yoga theme, “Yoga for Healthy Aging,” which emphasizes the importance of yoga in maintaining physical vitality, mental resilience, and overall well-being throughout life.
The programme was designed to encourage participants to understand the value of yoga as a sustainable lifestyle practice that supports healthy aging and disease prevention. Through guided demonstrations and practical sessions, participants were introduced to various components of the Common Yoga Protocol, including loosening exercises, yogic postures, breathing techniques, and relaxation practices.
The session was coordinated by Dr. Sonia Ningombam, who highlighted the relevance of yoga in enhancing flexibility, improving posture, reducing stress, and fostering a balanced state of body and mind. The participants were sensitized to the role of regular yoga practice in promoting active and healthy living, particularly in the context of age-related health challenges.
A total of 10 participants attended the programme and actively engaged in all activities. Their enthusiastic participation reflected a growing interest in adopting yoga as a means of achieving holistic health and wellness. The interactive nature of the session enabled participants to gain practical exposure to yogic practices and their benefits.
The programme concluded with an appeal to integrate yoga into daily life and uphold the message of International Day of Yoga 2026 by embracing healthy habits that contribute to longevity, wellness, and a better quality of life.
