12TH INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY PROGRAM

The 12th International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 21st June 2026 at the Yoga Hall, 6th Floor, Maharishi Aurobindo Subharti Hospital and College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (MASCHNYS), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), Meerut.

The program was conducted from 6:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. and witnessed active participation from undergraduate (BNYS) students, postgraduate scholars, faculty members, and non-teaching staff of the college. Faculty and students from various constituent colleges of Subharti University, including Paramedical Sciences, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Medical, Dental, and Physical Education, also joined the celebration, reflecting the spirit of unity and wellness promoted through yoga.

The event commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting, graced by Colonel Rajendra Tyagi, Head of Institution, Subharti College of Science and Defence Academy, Mr. Anuj Shah, Head, Subharti Department of Education, Mrs. Manju Adhikari, Head, Subharti Department of Physical Education, and Dr. Nair Dhiren Ajit, Officiating Principal and Dean, Maharishi Aurobindo Subharti Hospital and College of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences, Faculty of AYUSH.

This was followed by the live telecast of the address delivered by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, on the occasion of International Yoga Day. The programme also included the distribution of medals to the winners of the Inter-College Yoga Competition conducted a day earlier.

The yoga session was conducted by Dr. Anilka Sachdeva, Demonstrator, MASCHNYS, SVSU, Meerut, who led the participants through the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. The session highlighted the importance of yoga in achieving physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

The programme was effectively hosted by Dr. Anshi Sharma, Tutor, MASCHNYS, SVSU, Meerut, ensuring the smooth conduct of all activities. The event was coordinated by Dr. Niraj N. Rishi and Dr. Shivaji Chobe, Associate Professors, MASCHNYS, SVSU, Meerut, whose dedicated efforts contributed significantly to the successful organization of the programme.

A total of 243 participants attended the event, making the celebration a grand success and reaffirming the institution’s commitment to promoting yoga as a holistic approach to health and wellness.
