Department of Physical Education Organizes One Day Workshop on “Entrepreneurship Development”
The Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, in association with the Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University successfully organized a One Day Workshop on “Entrepreneurship Development” on 14 May 2026 at the Seminar Hall, Faculty of Education. The workshop was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students regarding entrepreneurship opportunities, innovation, self-employment, and startup development in the field of physical education and sports sciences.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Manju Adhikari, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Physical Education, who felicitated the distinguished Resource Person, Dr. Bhanu Pratap, Assistant Professor Grade-II, Amity School of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, by presenting a ceremonial shawl (Padtka) and a sapling as a token of respect and gratitude.
The workshop was successfully coordinated under the convenorship of Dr. Atul Tiwari, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, whose dedicated efforts contributed significantly towards the smooth and successful conduct of the programme. Faculty members of the department were also present during the workshop and actively supported the event.
During the workshop, Dr. Bhanu Pratap delivered an insightful and motivational session focusing on entrepreneurship opportunities in the sports and fitness industry. The resource person discussed various aspects of entrepreneurship development, including startup planning, leadership qualities, innovation, business opportunities in sports sciences, fitness centers, wellness industries, sports coaching, event management, and sports consultancy services.
The speaker also emphasized the importance of creativity, communication skills, professional networking, financial planning, and digital marketing for establishing successful entrepreneurial ventures in the field of sports and physical education. Students were guided regarding self-employment opportunities, government schemes supporting startups, and the growing demand for skilled professionals in sports and wellness sectors.
Interactive discussions and practical examples made the session highly engaging and informative. Students actively interacted with the resource person and clarified their doubts related to entrepreneurship, career planning, business development, and professional growth opportunities in sports sciences.
Approximately 55 students enthusiastically participated in the workshop and gained valuable insights regarding entrepreneurship and innovation in the field of physical education and sports sciences. The programme proved highly beneficial in enhancing students’ entrepreneurial awareness, leadership skills, and career preparedness.
The Department of Physical Education expressed sincere gratitude to the distinguished Resource Person and the Entrepreneurship Development Cell for conducting a highly enriching and impactful workshop. The programme reflected the department’s commitment towards skill development, innovation, employability enhancement, and quality education in alignment with NAAC quality initiatives and NEP 2020 objectives.
