World Physiotherapy Day – Report
On the occasion of World Physiotherapy Day 2026, the Department of Neurological Physiotherapy, Jyotirao Phule Subharti College of Physiotherapy (JPSCP), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, organised academic and community-oriented activities to promote awareness regarding the importance and role of physiotherapy in improving health, functional independence, and quality of life.
A Free Physiotherapy Camp was organized on 7th September 2026 at the Physiotherapy OPD of JPSCP. Approximately 55 patients with various neurological, musculoskeletal, and cardiovascular conditions visited the OPD and benefited from free physiotherapy assessment, management, and professional guidance. The camp also focused on creating awareness about the preventive, rehabilitative, and health-promoting role of physiotherapy. All faculty members actively participated in the camp and contributed to its smooth and successful conduct.
The symposium was conducted on 8th September 2026 with active participation from the Department of Neurology, Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Department of Radiology of SVSU. The expert sessions were delivered by Dr. Abhinav Bansal (HOD, Department of Neurosurgery), Dr Vivek Tomar (Department of Neurosurgery), Dr. Smriti Gupta (Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology), and Dr Medha Goel (Department of Radiology).
The symposium provided students with valuable clinical insights and enhanced their understanding of the application of physiotherapy across different medical specialties. It also emphasized the importance of a multidisciplinary approach in clinical practice.
Prof. (Dr.) Shikha Singh, Head, Department of Neurological Physiotherapy, made valuable efforts towards the successful organization of the World Physiotherapy Day activities and actively motivated and encouraged students to participate enthusiastically. The event concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Gaurav Pratap Tyagi, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, students, and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
The entire programme was successfully conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Amit Kumar Goel, Officiating Principal, JPSCP.
