Collection and Distribution of Essential Kits to Needy Families
Community Outreach Initiative by the Department of Home Science
Saheed Baba Deep Singh Department of Home Science (FASS) organized a Community Outreach Activity for the Collection and Distribution of Essential Kits to Needy Families with the aim of providing basic support to needy families in the community and promoting the values of social responsibility, compassion, empathy, sharing, and community welfare among students and staff. The activity was conducted under the supervision and guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Jyoti Gaur, Head of the Department, and witnessed active participation from faculty members Dr. Nishma Singh, Dr. Shalu Nehra, Dr. Mansi Chaudhary, Dr. Manshi, Dr. Rashi Rastogi, and Dr. Shailja Durgal, along with the non-teaching staff members of the Department. As part of the initiative, essential items were collected, organized, and prepared into kits for distribution among needy families in the community to help address some of their immediate household requirements. The activity aimed not only to extend meaningful support to the beneficiaries but also to encourage students to understand the importance of community service and responsible citizenship. The active participation of faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students reflected the Department’s commitment to community engagement, social welfare, and holistic student development. The successful completion of the activity was made possible through the collective efforts and cooperation of all participants, reinforcing the importance of working together towards the welfare of society.
