Educational Visit to IHBAS, Delhi

Panna Dhai Maa Subharti Nursing College, Meerut organized an educational clinical visit to the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), Dilshad Garden, Delhi, on September 28–29, 2026. A total of 99 nursing students from B.Sc. Nursing, M.Sc. Nursing, and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing participated in the visit under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Saral Kumar and Asst. Prof. Shivani Bhadauriya.

The visit aimed to provide students with practical exposure to mental health and psychiatric nursing, neurological care, emergency psychiatric services, and community mental health services. Students visited various clinical and academic departments, including the OPD, inpatient wards, psychiatric emergency services, Tele-MANAS Cell, District Mental Health Programme, community rehabilitation services, and mobile mental health services.

The students gained valuable insights into psychiatric assessment and nursing care, crisis management, therapeutic communication, patient safety, psychosocial rehabilitation, community-based mental healthcare, and the implementation of the Mental Healthcare Act. The visit helped bridge the gap between theoretical learning and clinical practice while enhancing students’ understanding of holistic and patient-centred mental healthcare.

The visit was an enriching academic experience that strengthened the students’ clinical knowledge, professional confidence, and understanding of the diverse roles of nurses in mental health and psychiatric care. The college extends its sincere gratitude to the management, faculty, medical officers, and nursing staff of IHBAS for their valuable guidance and support.
