Successful Organization of Akbar–Birbal Based Role Play by the Department of Languages

The Department of Languages, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, successfully organized a role play based on the famous Akbar–Birbal story on 8 January 2026. The theme of the programme was “Victory of Justice and Wisdom.” The event was conducted as part of a series of academic and creative activities aimed at enriching language learning through experiential methods.

The programme was organized under the able leadership of the Head of the Department, Dr. Seema Sharma, and was effectively coordinated by Dr. Manisha Luthra and Dr. Nishi Raghav. Several faculty members graced the occasion, including Dr. Rafat Khanam, Dr. Yashpal, Dr. Ranveer Singh, Dr. Ashish Kumar, Dr. Swati Sharma, Mr. Ankit Kumar, Ms. Sanya Agrawal, and Dr. Preeti Sharma, whose presence added academic value to the event.

Through engaging dialogues and lively performances, the students presented the Akbar–Birbal narrative highlighting the importance of justice, intelligence, logical reasoning, and ethical values. The performance not only entertained the audience but also conveyed a meaningful social message.

A large number of students actively participated in the role play, including Vidhi Goswami, Jyoti Chaudhary, Vidhi Chauhan, Yashika Raj, Samia Siddiqui, Punit, Chhavi Tyagi, Atul, Manjeet, Mayank Baisla, Alish, Bhoomi, Nitesh Tiwari, Pintu Kumar, Shivam Kumar, Md. Fahad, Deepak, Kanishka Gautam, Jiya Mittal, Anushka Sharma, Sujeet Gupta, Aniket Raj Rajak, Deepu Kumar, and Ritik Dhigan.

At the conclusion of the programme, Dr. Seema Sharma appreciated the efforts of the students and emphasized that such activities make language learning practical, interactive, and effective. Other faculty members also commended the initiative and encouraged the organization of similar programmes in the future.

Objectives

  • To enhance students’ language, communication, and expressive skills through experiential learning.
  • To inculcate moral values, logical reasoning, and ethical awareness using literary narratives.

Outcomes

  • Students demonstrated improved confidence, communication skills, and active participation.
  • The role play effectively conveyed the values of justice and wisdom, reinforcing learning through practice.
