Alumni Meet-2026
The Department of Library and Information Science, Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Meerut, organised an Alumni Meet on April 26th, 2026 with the primary objective of bringing former students together on a common platform to facilitate the exchange of professional experiences, constructive suggestions, and insights into their current career accomplishments. The event also aimed to strengthen the bond between the institution and its alumni community, and to provide present students with meaningful guidance and industry-oriented perspectives.
The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and a tribute to Goddess Saraswati, in keeping with established academic tradition. Dr. Sudhir Tyagi, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences formally welcomed all alumni members and highlighted the department’s sustained commitment, since its inception, to delivering education and training grounded in modern information technology, thereby preparing students for professional careers in the information sector. He emphasised that alumni constitute the true identity of any institution and that their lived experiences serve as an invaluable source of guidance for current students. Alumni participants shared their professional journeys and acknowledged that the practical training, technical competencies, and academic foundation provided by the department had played a decisive role in shaping their careers. They also encouraged present students to embrace the latest developments in library automation, digital libraries, and information management. The programme was structured around multiple interactive sessions encompassing dialogue, professional networking, and career counselling. Current students actively engaged with alumni by posing questions and attentively absorbing the knowledge and advice shared.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Sapna Sharma, accompanied by a collective resolve to organise such programs with greater frequency and enhanced effectiveness in the future. The Alumni Meet yielded significant outcomes it fostered a strong sense of institutional belonging among former students, provided current students with practical career insights, and established a network for ongoing mentorship and professional collaboration. The program was attended by all faculty members, including Dr. Javed Khan, Dr. Sapna Sharma, Dr. Alpana, and Mrs. Bhavna Joshi along with alumni and current students. The active participation and cooperation of both present and former students contributed substantially to the overall success of the event.
