Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law conducted an awareness session on Suicide Prevention and Early Symptoms under the esteemed guidance of Hon’ble Justice Rajesh Chandra, Director (Former Judge, High Court of Judicature at Allahabad), and Prof. (Dr.) Reena Bishnoi, Officiating Dean, Faculty of Law. This session was conducted as per the directives of U.P.Government by the University Task Force working for the prevention of suicide tendency among students.This session was conducted by the Dr.Sarika Tyagi,Wellness Officer Subharti Law College in association with Psychiatry department Subharti University.The first speaker of the program Dr.Seema Sharma told with the objective of educating participants about the growing concern of mental health issues and the importance of early identification and timely intervention. She said that suicide is a serious public health issue that affects individuals, families, and society at large. According to the World Health Organization, suicide is one of the leading causes of death globally, particularly among young people. She told about the effects of suicide over the health of individual and their families. She also discussed the provisions of Mental Health Act and encourage students to take measures to prevent the suicide tendency among their friends and others. After that Second speaker Dr.Antul Tyagi told about the factors responsible for the Suicide tendency. There can be many reasons like toxic relations with others ,peer pressure of friends or parents and some other factors also. It is up to you that how you deal with situation and go forward in to your life because life is very precious and we should not waste our life for the others.She also told that we should not cope up with our problems but we should work for the others also. This session is not only organized to make you aware but it is your duty to aware the society also. The session end with the vote of thanks given by the coordinator of the program.
