“Bharatiya Bhasha Divas”

The Department of Language, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University joyously commemorates the birth anniversary of the illustrious Chinnaswami Subramania Bharati, a prolific Tamil writer, poet, journalist, Indian independence activist, social reformer, and polyglot. In honor of his contributions to literature and linguistic diversity, the department has initiated “Bharatiya Bhasha Divas,” a 75-day celebration from 28th September to 11th December, dedicated to promoting the rich tapestry of national languages in India. Under the resounding theme of “Bhasha Anek Bhav Ek,” the celebration seeks to underscore the unity in diversity that linguistic plurality brings to the cultural mosaic of the nation.

Through various events, and cultural programs, the Department of Language aims to foster a deep appreciation for the linguistic heritage of India, reinforcing the importance of preserving and celebrating the myriad languages that form the bedrock of our national identity.
