“Breaking Stereotypes: Empowering Girls through Sports and Education”
Under Mission Shakti Phase-5

Under the initiative of the Government of Uttar Pradesh, Mission Shakti Phase-5, the Women Empowerment Committee of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, in collaboration with the Gender Sensitization Committee, organized an inspiring special Guest lecture on the theme “Breaking Stereotypes: Empowering Girls through Sports and Education” on October 13, 2025.

The keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Shruti Nagar, a renowned academician and speaker from Noida International University. In her address, Dr. Nagar stated, “When we educate and encourage our daughters, we are not only empowering individuals but uplifting the entire society. Today, India’s daughters are proving that intelligence, leadership, and strength have no gender.”

She emphasized that education fosters confidence, decision-making ability, and leadership qualities in girls, while sports instill discipline, resilience, and team spirit — breaking the traditional notion that physical strength belongs only to men. Appreciating government initiatives like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, she stressed the need for continuous investment in education and sports facilities for girls.

The program commenced with a warm welcome of the guest speaker, Dr. Shruti Nagar, who was felicitated with a potted plant and a Patka by Dr. Anshul Trivedi (Chairperson, Women Empowerment Committee) and Dr. Sarika Abhay (Chairperson, Gender Sensitization Cell). The  committee members accompanied, include Dr. Manju Adhikari -SecretaryDr. Rafat Khanam and Dr. Rakhi Jha.

In her address, Dr. Anshul Trivedi stated, “Our University aims to create a campus environment that ensures respect and equal opportunities for all.”
Dr. Sarika Abhay highlighted the importance of sustained gender sensitization initiatives in academic institutions.

At the end of the lecture, students interacted with Dr. Nagar, asking insightful questions, to which she responded solicitously and encouraged them to remain aware and engaged with such sensitive issues. The event was beautifully anchored by Vidhi Goswami M.A. English and Kanishka B.A. English Hons. students.

Faculty members, nodal officers, and gender champions from various departments – including Fahad, Vidhi, Kanishka, Ritik, and students Bhumi, Anshu, Aryan, Arya, Chhavi, Jia, Anushka, Samiya, Khushi, Man, Shivansh, Yashika, and others — contributed significantly to the success of the program.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Rafat Khanam, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mission Shakti, the University Administration, all committee membersvolunteersstudentsmedia representatives, and supporting staff for their cooperation and participation.

The program concluded with a reaffirmed commitment to the ideals of empowerment, unity, and equality.
