Celebrating the Diverse Cultures of India:
A Culinary and Cultural Showcase
 

The Department of Home Science organized a vibrant cultural event titled “Cultures in India”, celebrating the rich diversity and heritage of the nation. The event provided an engaging platform for students to explore and exhibit the unique traditions, cuisines, and attires of various Indian states.

Students enthusiastically participated by preparing traditional dishes and donning the regional attire of Punjab, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Uttarakhand. Each student represented their assigned state with creativity and authenticity, transforming the venue into a colourful tapestry of India’s multicultural essence. The event not only highlighted culinary skills but also fostered a deeper appreciation for India’s cultural mosaic.

A key highlight of the celebration was the array of traditional delicacies prepared by the students. Culinary delights offered a sensory journey across the nation. The aroma of spices and the meticulous presentation of each dish reflected the students’ dedication and deep appreciation of regional Flavors.

 “Cultures in India” served as a reminder of unity in diversity and showcased the creative spirit of the Home Science Department. It was a day of learning, celebration, and pride in the nation’s cultural heritage.

The celebration was organized with enthusiastic support from the faculty and under the dedicated guidance of Dr. Nishma Singh, Head of the Department. The event was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Nitika Rastogi Faculty members played an active role in mentoring the students throughout the planning and execution stages.
