A Grand Welcome to the New Beginnings
Organized by the Department of Liberal Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, SVSU, Meerut
The Department of Liberal Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a vibrant Fresher’s Party – Abhinandanam 2025 to welcome the new batch of students with immense enthusiasm and joy. The event began with the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony by the esteemed Pro-Vice Chancellor Col. Devendra Swarup Sir, Prof. Sudhir Tyagi (Dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences), Prof. Anoj Raj (Head, Department of Education), Prof. Lubhan Singh, Prof. Sartaj Ahmed, Dr. Seema Sharma, Dr. Rafat Khanam, Dr. Ashish Kumar, Mr. Anam Sherwani, Dr. Preeti Singh, and all faculty members of the department. The fresher’s event Abhinandanam 2025 was graced with the enlightening words of the esteemed guests. Honourable Vice-Chancellor Sir, Major General Dr. G.K. Thapliyal, and Respected CEO Madam, Dr. Shalya Raj, conveyed their heartfelt best wishes for the success of the event and for the bright future of the newly admitted students. Pro-Vice Chancellor Col. Devendra Swarup Sir encouraged the students by stating that education is not just about academics, but about shaping character and confidence. He appreciated the efforts of the department for organizing a warm and vibrant welcome for the new students. Prof. Sudhir Tyagi, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, highlighted the significance of such events in laying the foundation for students’ academic journeys, wishing them wisdom and excellence ahead. Prof. Anoj Raj, Head of the Department of Education, applauded the energy and enthusiasm of the freshers and expressed his belief in their potential. Dr. Manoj Kumar Tripathi, Head of the Department of Liberal Arts and Humanities, expressed his delight at the energy and unity displayed during the event. He encouraged students to uphold the values of the university, maintain discipline, and make the most of the academic and cultural resources available to them. Prof. Lubhan Singh emphasized the importance of balancing academics with cultural activities, while Prof. Sartaj Ahmed shared that such celebrations instill a sense of unity and belonging. Dr. Seema Sharma extended her heartfelt wishes, urging students to stay curious and kind throughout their academic life. Dr. Rafat Khanam spoke about the journey of learning and unlearning in college and motivated students to cherish each experience. Dr. Ashish Kumar welcomed the newcomers by reminding them that their dreams are valid and achievable through dedication. Mr. Anam Sherwani encouraged students to participate actively in both academic and extracurricular spheres. Dr. Preeti Singh concluded with warm wishes, expressing that this phase of life is a journey of self-discovery, opportunity, and growth, and welcomed all to the Subharti family. Adding to this, Dr. Durvesh Kumar motivated the students and also mesmerized the audience by singing a beautiful song, adding charm and emotion to the celebration.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Amrita Chaudhary with active support from the faculty members including Dr. Durvesh Kumar, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Dr. Mohini Mittal, Dr. Sarita Sharma, Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Dr. Ruby, Dr. Lovely, Ms. Juli, and Mr. Kapil.
Students were made to feel special as unique titles were awarded to each one of them, making the occasion memorable.

Best performance award were given to Miss Lisha and Miss AAliya, Dr. Rafat Khanam was the judge of this segment. Notable student attendees included Atul Kaushik, Gunjan, Ankit Dipak, Anamika, Aniket, Aashi, Jassica, Srishti, Abhinav, Shaurya, and Chhavi.
The students showcased their talents with energetic dance performances, a thought-provoking skit, and melodious musical acts. Om Saraswat played a soulful tune on the guitar, accompanied by Tendai who lent her voice to the same performance.
The entire event was filled with laughter, joy, music, and unforgettable moments, leaving everyone with warm memories of togetherness and celebration.
