The Faculty of Law organized a Sensitization Programme on the theme “Hamara Samvidhaan, Hamara Swabhimaan” on the occasion of Constitution Day.
The event commenced with a warm welcome to dignitaries, followed by the Lamp Lighting Ceremony.
The programme included:
- Welcome and Introductory Address by Reena Bishnoi, Officiating Dean, Faculty of Law.
- (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya (Professor of Law), Dean (Research & Development) and Director Research, shared meaningful insights on constitutional values and democratic responsibilities during his address. He explained that the British Government began its major colonial administrative activities in 1833, and the Government of India Act of 1935—prepared by the British—came to be regarded as the first comprehensive constitutional document. Significantly, this Act laid the groundwork for an independent democratic system and self-governance in India by establishing core principles such as liberty, equality, justice, and rights. Implemented in 1937, the Act introduced important governance mechanisms, including the cabinet system. Keeping this framework in mind, the Constitution makers of India examined the prevailing circumstances and thoughtfully decided which provisions to adopt and on what basis. Prof. Bhartiya also interacted with the students and shared valuable historical knowledge about the evolution of the Indian Constitution, further emphasizing the depth, deliberation, and vision that shaped India’s constitutional journey.
- Presence of Prof. (Dr.) Lubhan Singh, Additional Director Research, and Shri Sagar Ji, representing the Sanghmata Dr. Mukti Bhatnagar Chair of Excellence, added academic depth and dignity to the event.
- Preamble Reading / Recitation led by Om Thakur, BA LL.B. IV Year, where all students and all staff participated with devotion and respect.
- Faculty members, students, and non-teaching staff actively attended and contributed to the success of the program.
Students and staff were encouraged to visit the portals constitution75.com and mygov.in to actively participate in the activities being organized in connection with the celebration. The event concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks acknowledging the Hon’ble Founder Sir, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Sir, CEO Ma’am, dignitaries, faculty, non-teaching staff, and students.
