Report on Celebration of Constitution Day – 26 November 2025

The Department of Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, celebrated Constitution Day on 26 November 2025 regarding reading a pledge of the preamble to the Constitution in accordance with the guidelines received from the University Grants Commission (UGC) dated 24th November 2025. The event was organized to promote awareness about the values, principles, and vision enshrined in the Constitution of India. Prof. (Dr.) Anoj Raj, officiating Dean, FoE expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar Sharma, for his constant support and encouragement in organizing such meaningful awareness activity.

Introduction of the Event

The event commenced with an introductory address by the Head, Department of Education,Prof.(Dr.) Indira Singh  who highlighted the significance of Constitution Day and its deep connection with Teacher Education. She emphasized that understanding constitutional values is essential for future educators, as they play a critical role in nurturing responsible, aware, and democratic citizens. She also explained the purpose of organizing the event, stressing the need for justice, equality, liberty, and fraternity in educational institutions to build strong and ethical learning environments. The activity of the day was the Reading of the Preamble of the Constitution, conducted collectively by students and faculty members. The recitation aimed to instil a sense of national pride, moral responsibility, and civic consciousness among the learners.

Objectives of the Event

  1. To promote constitutional values and democratic ethics among students.
  2. To create awareness regarding justice, equality, liberty, and fraternity.
  3. To strengthen students’ understanding of their roles as future educators in building a just and inclusive society.

Expected Outcomes

  1. Students gained a clearer understanding of the essence of the Indian Constitution.
  2. Enhanced awareness about the responsibilities and duties of citizens.
  3. Improved alignment of teacher-education values with national goals of peace, justice, and strong institutions.

Dr. Bhuvnesh Sharma extended heartfelt thanks to all students and faculty members for their active and disciplined participation throughout the event. The event photography was done by Ms. Anushka and Mr. Manish Kumar, who beautifully captured the highlights of the celebration. The activity was coordinated by Dr. Reeba Devi, Assistant Professor, activity in charge Department of Education. The event reflected the department’s continuous effort to combine academic excellence with value-based and patriotic learning with coordination of all faculty members and students.
