Celebration of World Wildlife Day
On the occasion of World Wildlife Day on 3rd March, the Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Department of Home Science organized a vibrant Face Painting Competition under its cultural activities section, well curated by program coordinator Ms Urvashi Sharma.The event aimed to raise awareness about wildlife conservation through creative expression. Students enthusiastically participated in the event, bringing along their acrylic colors, brushes, face creams for base layers, and various painting tools. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and creativity as students prepared their palettes and transformed their peers’ faces into stunning works of art.
Participants painted a variety of wildlife figures on each other’s faces, including lions, bees, birds, octopuses, dolphins, pandas, and deer. Each design beautifully captured the essence of the animal kingdom, showcasing not only the artistic talent of the students but also their deep concern for the protection and preservation of wildlife. The competition highlighted the importance of creative expression in spreading environmental awareness, leaving a lasting impression on both participants and spectators.
The event concluded with a small appreciation ceremony, where the most creative and meaningful paintings were acknowledged. The Face Painting Competition effectively combined art, culture, and environmental consciousness, making it a memorable celebration of World Wildlife Day. The event was successfully conducted under the able guidance of Dr. Nishma Singh, Head of Department, along with the dedicated support of the faculty members.
