Debate Competition on International Women’s Day Swami Vivekanand Subharti University
Keral Verma Subharti College of Science, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), Meerut hosted a Debate Competition on 1st March, 2025 on the thought-provoking Topic: “Increasing the Women in Law Enforcement & Security Forces: The Key to Improving Women’s Safety in Society.” during the occasion of one-week celebration of International Women’s Day at Madan Mohan Malviya Auditorium, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University.
The event started with gracious presence of Hon’ble CEO, Dr. Shalya Raj Ma’am and Deans of various constituent colleges. The event commenced with enthusiastic talk by Hon’ble CEO Ma’am who enlightened students about role of Women in various sectors of society. The program further moved with a welcome address, emphasizing the significance of gender inclusivity in law enforcement. The debate provided a platform for students to critically analyze the role of women in security sectors and its impact on societal safety. Participants presented diverse perspectives, making the discussions both enlightening and impactful.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from 13 teams from different constituent colleges, engaging in insightful debates that explored the importance of female representation in security forces. First position was achieved by the students of Department of Liberal Arts & Humanities followed by students of Subharti Law College at second position and students of Subharti Dental College at third position. 136 students, attended the event, along with the esteemed presence of 38 faculty members. The jury members Dr. Lubhan Singh, Dr. Seema Shamra and Dr. Gaurab Kumar Sharma played a very critical role in judging by analyzing the arguments during the debate.
The presence of faculty members and students from various departments highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering dialogue on gender equality and security. The event concluded with remarks from Jury members, appreciating the insightful deliberations and encouraging students to actively engage in discussions on social issues. The vote of thanks was concluded by Dr. Shashiraj Teotia, Associate Professor. The event was coordinated by the faculty members of the Department of Chemistry under the guidance of Dr. Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean, Subharti Law College and Prof. Dr. Renu Mavi, Dean, KVSCOS. This initiative aligns with the institution’s ongoing efforts to promote academic excellence, critical thinking, and social awareness. The successful execution of the debate reflects University’s dedication to empowering students and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
