Children’s Day Celebration

The Department of Library and Information Science celebrated Children’s Day on 14th November 2024 with great enthusiasm. This year, the celebration was a joyful and vibrant occasion, filled with laughter and energy. The program began with a special assembly, during which Dr. Sudhir Tyagi, Head of the Department, along with faculty members, delivered heartfelt messages emphasizing the importance of nurturing creativity and curiosity in every child.

Children’s Day is celebrated annually on November 14th to honor the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who was deeply fond of children. Nehru believed that children are the true wealth of a nation, and his legacy continues to inspire this day, dedicated to celebrating children and advocating for their rights and well-being. It is not just a day of festivities but also an opportunity to reflect on our responsibilities to ensure that every child in India has the chance to flourish.

The program featured a variety of activities to make the day special for the students, including poems, bhajans, songs, and speeches. These activities highlighted the significance of children in shaping the future of the nation. Both teachers and students actively participated, making the event memorable and meaningful.

The celebration was a resounding success, leaving everyone inspired and reminded of the importance of fostering the potential of every child.
