It gives us immense pleasure to announce that Dr. Swikriti Agrawal, Dr. Kritika Dubey, and Dr. Vijay Wadhwan have successfully secured Design Registration No. 465897-001 for their innovative invention titled Extension of Airotor, registered in the name of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University.

The registered design pertains to a specially engineered extension for airotor handpieces, developed to enhance accessibility, maneuverability, and precision during dental procedures. The extension is designed to attach seamlessly to the distal end of a conventional airotor handpiece, thereby improving its functional efficiency. Crafted from lightweight aluminum, the device ensures ease of handling and reduced fatigue for dental practitioners.

The innovation incorporates two precision-engineered stainless steel pipes embedded within the aluminum body—one larger pipe for air pressure transmission and a smaller pipe dedicated to water flow. This advanced configuration ensures optimal performance, superior control, and enhanced precision during dental treatments.

The primary objective of the invention is to extend the operational length of the airotor handpiece, enabling dentists to comfortably and accurately treat posterior teeth, especially third molars. The design is particularly beneficial for patients with limited mouth opening or conditions such as microstomia. By improving reach and maneuverability, the invention contributes to better treatment outcomes, increased patient comfort, and reduced procedural complexity.

This achievement reflects the university’s strong emphasis on research, innovation, and practical solutions in healthcare, further reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence and societal impact.
