Dhammapada recitation was organized on the occasion of the birthday of Dr. Atul Krishna, the founder of the Subharti Group, and the great Jyotirao Phule, under the aegis of the Tathagat Buddha Chair, set up by the Mahayana Theravada Vajrayana Buddhist Religious And Charitable Trust. The program was inaugurated by Buddhist scholar Dr. Chandrakirti Bhante by presenting Mangalacharan Vandana in front of the statue of Tathagata Buddha at Subharti School of Buddhist Studies, meditation center. Buddhist monks recited Dhammapada Under the leadership of Buddhist scholar Dr. Chandrakirti Bhante and Bhante Dr. Rakesh Anand.
The Chairman and Program Coordinator of MTV Subharti Trust, Dr. Heero Hito said that today is a very glorious day because today is the birthday of the great legends Jyotirao Phule and Dr. Atul Krishna Bodh (Bhatnagar), founder of Subharti Group. He said that the Dhammapada text is the best popular text of Buddhist literature, it contains a collection of moral teachings of the Tathagat Buddha. He explained that Dhammapada is a Pali word meaning “the path of truth”. Dr. Heero added that reciting Dhammapada motivates the mind to walk on the path of peace and truth; for this purpose special prayers have been offered for world peace, progress, compassion, love and goodwill.
Vice-Chancellor of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Brigadier Dr. VP Singh, gave the birthday greetings and best wishes to the founder, Dr. Atul Krishna Bodh. He said that the teachings of Tathagat Buddha are for the welfare of the world and it is a matter of great pride that Subharati University is preserving the Indian culture in the country by adopting the ideals of Tathagat Gautam Buddha.
Dr. Atul Krishna, thanked all the well-wishers who sent greetings from all over the country on the occasion of the birthday. He said that Dhammapada leads people towards the truth, love, compassion, friendship and goodwill. He said that all the followers who follow the ideology of the Tathagat Buddha should pray for peace, progress and unity in the country by organizing the Dhammapada text on their birthdays and important occasions.
While paying tribute to Mahatma Jyotirao Phule , Chief Executive Officer of Subharati University, Dr. Shalya Raj said that the young generation of the country should take inspiration from all the great women & men. For this purpose, the University has named all its faculty, departments, roads, and buildings on various Indian Inspiring Personalities. This has been done so that the students can draw inspiration from these great leaders and visionaries. She added that Subharti Physiotherapy College has been named after Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and a women’s hostel is named after Savitri Bai Phule Ji.
Buddhist scholar Dr. Chandrakirti recited Dhammapada in Pali language and Bhante Dr. Rakesh Anand translated it into Hindi. Dr. Chandrakirti Bhante stated that the Dhammapada text consists of 26 sections and includes 423 gathas in which Buddha has shown humans the path of truth in all aspects of life.

महायाना थेरावाद वज्रयाना बुद्धिस्ट रिलीजियस एण्ड चैरिटेबल ट्रस्ट द्वारा स्थापित तथागत बुद्धा चेयर के तत्वाधान में सुभारती ग्रुप के संस्थापक डा. अतुल कृष्ण बौद्ध एवं महापुरूष ज्योतिराव फूले के जन्म दिवस के अवसर पर धम्मपद पाठ का आयोजन किया गया। कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ बौद्ध विद्धान डा. चन्द्रकीर्ति भंते ने सुभारती स्कूल ऑफ बुद्धिस्ट स्टडीज के ध्यान केन्द्र में तथागत बुद्ध की प्रतिमा के समक्ष मंगलाचरण वंदना प्रस्तुत करके किया। बौद्ध विद्वान डा. चन्द्रकीर्ति भंते एवं भंते डा. राकेश आनन्द के नेतृत्व में बौद्ध भिक्षुओं ने धम्मपद पाठ किया।
एमटीवी सुभारती ट्रस्ट के अध्यक्ष एवं कार्यक्रम संयोजक डा. हिरो हितो ने कहा कि आज का दिन बड़ा गौरवशाली है क्योंकि आज ही के दिन महापुरूष ज्योतिराव फूले एवं सुभारती ग्रुप के संस्थापक डा. अतुल कृष्ण बौद्ध का जन्मदिन है। उन्होंने बताया कि धम्मपद पाठ बौद्ध साहित्य का सर्वोत्कृष्ट लोकप्रिय ग्रंथ है, इसमें तथागत बुद्ध के नैतिक उपदेशों का संग्रह है। उन्होंने बताया कि धम्मपद एक पालि शब्द है जिसका अर्थ “सत्य का मार्ग“ है। उन्होंने कहा कि धम्मपद पाठ करने से मन को शान्ति और सत्य के मार्ग पर चलने की प्रेरणा मिलती है और इसी उद्देश्य से विश्व शान्ति, उन्नति, करूणा, प्रेम एवं सद्भावना हेतु विशेष प्रार्थना की गई है।
सुभारती विश्वविद्यालय के कुलपति ब्रिगेडियर डा. वी.पी.सिंह ने संस्थापक डा. अतुल कृष्ण बौद्ध को जन्मदिन की बधाई एवं शुभकामनाएं दी। उन्होंने कहा कि तथागत बुद्ध की शिक्षाएं विश्व के कल्याण हेतु है और यह बड़े गौरव की बात है कि सुभारती विश्वविद्यालय तथागत गौतम बुद्ध के आदर्शें को अपना कर देश में भारतीय संस्कृति को संरक्षित कर रहा है।
सुभारती विश्वविद्यालय के संस्थापक डा. अतुल कृष्ण बौद्ध ने जन्मदिन के अवसर पर देशभर से शुभकामनाएं भेजने वाले सभी शुभचिंतकों का आभार व्यक्त किया। उन्होंने कहा कि तथागत बुद्ध की यहीं शिक्षाएं है कि अपने जीवन के विशेष अवसरों पर सत्य के मार्ग पर चलने का संकल्प लिया जाए और जिस प्रकार एमटीवी सुभारती ट्रस्ट ने धम्मपद पाठ का आयोजन करके लोगो को सत्य की ओर अग्रसर किया है उससे सभी के जीवन में प्रेम, करूणा मैत्री व सद्भावना पैदा होगी। उन्होंने कहा कि तथागत बुद्ध की विचारधारा पर चलने वाले समस्त अनुयायी अपने जन्मदिवस व महत्वपूर्ण अवसरों पर धम्मपद पाठ का आयोजन करके देश में शान्ति,उन्नति एवं एकता हेतु प्राथर्ना करें।
सुभारती विश्वविद्यालय की मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी डा. शल्या राज ने महात्मा ज्योतिराव फूले को नमन करते हुए कहा कि देश की युवा पीढी़ को अपने समस्त महापुरूषों से प्रेरणा लेनी चाहिए और सुभारती विश्वविद्यालय ने इसी उद्देश्य से अपने समस्त संकाय, विभाग एवं मार्ग का नाम विभिन्न महापुरूषों के नाम पर स्थापित किया हुआ है ताकि विद्यार्थियों को उनसे प्रेरणा मिल सकें। उन्होंने बताया कि सुभारती फिजियोथैरेपी कॉलिज का नाम महात्मा ज्योतिराव फुले के नाम पर रखा गया है एवं एक महिला छात्रावास का नाम सावित्री बाई फुले जी के नाम पर रखा गया है।
बौद्ध विद्वान डा.चन्द्रकीर्ति ने पाली भाषा में धम्मपद पाठ किया एवं भंते डा. राकेश आनन्द ने उसका हिन्दी भाषा में अनुवाद करके सभी को अध्यात्म की धारा में प्रवाहित कर दिया। डा. चन्द्रकीर्ति भंते ने बताया कि धम्मपद पाठ में 26 वर्ग होते है तथा 423 गाथाएं इसमें शामिल है जिसमें तथागत बुद्ध द्वारा मानव को जीवन के हर पहलूओं पर सत्य का मार्ग दिखाया गया है।
