EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO INDIA GATE AND AMRIT UDYAN
The Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Department of Home Science, Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized an educational visit to India Gate and Amrit Udyan, New Delhi, with the objective of providing students with an enriching learning experience beyond the classroom. A total of 34 students participated in the visit, accompanied by Dr. Mansi Chaudhary, Assistant Professor and Dr. Rashi Rastogi, Assistant Professor. The visit was organized with the valuable support and guidance of Dr. (Prof.) Jyoti Gaur, Head of the Department of Home Science, along with the cooperation of other faculty members of the department.
The visit to India Gate provided students with an opportunity to explore an important national monument and understand its historical and cultural significance. Students observed the architectural features of the monument and gained insights into its association with India’s history and national heritage. The visit also encouraged students to develop a sense of respect for the nation’s historical legacy.
The students subsequently visited Amrit Udyan, where they explored the beautifully maintained gardens and diverse varieties of plants and flowers. The visit provided practical exposure to the importance of biodiversity, horticulture, environmental conservation, and sustainable development. Students actively observed the different garden sections and appreciated the aesthetic and ecological value of green spaces.
The educational visit was interactive and informative, allowing students to connect academic learning with real-life experiences. It promoted observation skills, environmental awareness, cultural understanding, experiential learning, and social interaction among the students. The students actively participated in the visit and expressed their appreciation for the enriching learning experience. The programme concluded successfully under the guidance and supervision of the accompanying faculty members.
