“Electoral Literacy Club” established in Subharti Youth should understand the importance of their voting – Registrar Selfie point established for voter awareness in Subharti campus NSS volunteers will play a leading role in voter awareness.
Meerut (Monu Kumar Yadav, BAJMC) “Electoral Literacy Club” was formed by Swami Vivekanand Subharti University to create awareness about voting among the youth. Under this club, more and more activities are being organized in the university to create election awareness and encourage new voters to exercise their rights. In this connection, a selfie point has been made in the university campus. Students are being encouraged to take selfies and upload them on their social media platform profiles with hashtags like #ChunavKaParv, #DeshKaParv, #VoteForSure and #MeraPehlaVote DeshKeLiye.
On this occasion, the Registrar of SVSU Grp. Capt. M. Yakub(Retd.) said that new and first time young voters will have to be conscious about voting. They must cast their first vote enthusiastically. He said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the University has formed an Electoral Literacy Club, through which a voter awareness campaign is being run in the University.
On this occasion, Chief Patron of Electoral Literacy Club and Program Coordinator of NSS, Prof. S.C. Thaledi said that the electoral pledge campaign is being run in all the constituent colleges of the university. He said that the Electoral Literacy Club of the university, apart from this, will conduct various activities like essay writing, open mic, poetry recitation, debate, rap song, slogan writing, poster making competition etc. for voter awareness among the students. Along with this, all the units of the NSS of the university will cooperate in voter awareness. During this, Club’s Nodal Officer Dr. Neeraj Dhaka, Club President Anushka Badli, Vice President Manisha Kumari and student representatives of various colleges were present along with Dr. Preeti Singh, Madhur Sharma, Shelly Sharma and Dinesh Kumar etc. from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Student representatives of the club included Dr. Evan S. John, Devotkarsh Sagar, Arpit Singh, Aditi Tyagi, Palak Tandon, Ayush Srivastava, Prince Kumar Upadhyay, Vishal Thakur NSS volunteers along with Ram Prakash Tiwari, Program Officer of Unit 1 of National Service Scheme (NSS) of the University Garima Pandey, Harshit Kumar, Divyanshu Aditya, Monu Kumar, Suman Kumar, Aastha Srivastava, Bharti Singh, Anushka Solanki, Sugandhi Bhardwaj, Bhoomi Arya, Anand Kumar etc. were present.
