Essay Competition: Celebration of 150 Years of Vande Mataram

150 glorious years of Vande Mataram is commemorated by organizing an Inter- college Essay writing competition. It was jointly organised by Faculty of Management & Commerce and Subharti College of Hotel Management, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University.  The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students from different institutions of the university.

The primary objective of the program was to follow and support the great initiative of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi to mark the formal launch of a year – long nationwide commemoration from 7th November, 2025 to 7th November 2026. The Essay writing competition aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the national song’s origin, composition, historical background, and its enduring significance in India’s freedom movement that continues to evoke national pride and unity.

On this occasion, , Professor (Dr.)  Indraneel Bose, Head, Subharti College of Hotel Management addressed the students and elaborated on the historical importance and patriotic essence of Vande Mataram, inspired young minds with its timeless relevance. The event was graced by Professor (Dr.) Padma Misra, the officiating Dean of the Faculty of Management and Commerce and Prof. (Dr.) Prabhat Kumar.

The Essay writing competition was efficiently conducted by the Event Coordinator, Dr. Rakhi Kumari and Dr. Rohil Bhatnagar.  The success of the event was further strengthened by the dedicated efforts of the Co-coordinators— Ms. Shivani Gupta and Ms. Akansha Sengal, whose valuable contributions ensured smooth execution of the program.

  • First Position – Ms. Vandana Swaroop, B.Sc (Biotechnology)-2nd Sem, Keral Verma Subharti College of Science
  • Second Position – Mr. Siddhant Singh Patel, BALLB- 6th Sem, Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law
  • Third Position (Tie) – Ms. Chetna, B.Sc Computer Science, 2nd Sem, Keral Verma Subharti College of Science, &
  • Mr. Aman Tyagi, BHMCT, 1st Year, Bhikaji Cama Subharti College of Hotel Management

The event concluded on a patriotic note, leaving participants with a deeper sense of national pride and historical awareness.
