Faculty Development Program (Refresher Course)

The Faculty Development Program (Refresher Course), conducted from 18th May to 22nd May 2026, was successfully organized by Jyotirao Phule Subharti College of Physiotherapy, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. The program was coordinated under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Raj Kumar Sharma, Head, Department of Pediatric Physiotherapy, Activity Coordinator, and Prof. (Dr.) Amit Kumar Goel, Officiating Principal, Activity Convener. The FDP served as an important academic initiative aimed at strengthening the professional competencies, clinical expertise, teaching effectiveness, and research capabilities of faculty members through expert lectures, practical demonstrations, and interactive discussions.

The five-day refresher course witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members across various specialties of physiotherapy. The program was carefully designed to provide exposure to recent developments in clinical practice, research methodology, professional ethics, and patient management strategies, thereby fostering continuous professional development and academic excellence.

The FDP commenced on 18th May 2026 with sessions by Dr. Kapil Rastogi on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Dr. Danish Noman on prolapsed intervertebral disc and spine MRI interpretation, and Dr. Surander Kumar on lung auscultation, enhancing participants’ emergency response and clinical assessment skills.

On 19th May 2026, Dr. Kaynat Hassan conducted a session on communication skills and professional behaviour, followed by Dr. Gaurav Pratap Tyagi on practical demonstration of mat exercises and Dr. Ritika Mani’s lecture on the application of ergonomics in healthcare practice.

The third day featured sessions by Dr. Prathana on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Dr. Damini Kansal on on-field emergency management in sports physiotherapy, and Dr. Sudhakar Viswas on stress management through exercise.

On 21st May 2026, Dr. Apoorva Yadav delivered a lecture on laws and ethics of physiotherapy, Dr. Blessy Raju discussed bronchial hygiene and modified postural drainage for neonates, and Dr. Tushi Kori conducted a session on cardiopulmonary assessment.

The final day focused on research and specialized clinical topics. Dr. Shikha Singh presented on data collection in research, Dr. Akansha Gurjar highlighted the role of orthotics in paediatric conditions, and Dr. Megha concluded the program with a session on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), emphasizing evidence-based physiotherapy management.

Overall, the Faculty Development Program (Refresher Course) 2026 proved to be a highly enriching and impactful academic event. The program reflected the institution’s commitment to continuous professional development and excellence in healthcare education.
