Report on Two-Day Internship Orientation Program for BNYS 2020 Batch

Maharishi Aurobindo Subharti College and Hospital of Naturopathy & Yogic Sciences (MASCHNYS), under Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a Two-Day Internship Orientation Program for the BNYS 2020 Batch from 29th May 2026 to 30th May 2026, from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM, at MASCHNYS, Meerut.

The internship is a crucial phase of professional training wherein graduates are expected to acquire practical clinical skills, patient management experience, and professional competence under the supervision of experienced medical officers. After completing four and a half years of academic study in the Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (BNYS) program, students are required to undergo a 12-month compulsory rotating internship, which serves as a bridge between academic learning and professional practice.

A total of 24 interns of the BNYS 2020 Batch successfully completed their academic program and joined the internship training. The orientation program was organized to familiarize interns with institutional functioning, professional responsibilities, ethical practices, and expectations during their internship period.

The program was inaugurated by Dr. Nair Dhiren Ajit, Officiating Dean & Principal, MASCHNYS,  who delivered insightful inaugural addresses and motivated the interns to utilize the internship period as an opportunity for professional growth and skill development.

The orientation program was thoughtfully designed to address essential aspects of clinical training and healthcare delivery. Various expert faculty members from different departments of MASCHNYS conducted sessions on:

  • Responsibilities and duties of interns
  • Rules and regulations governing internship training
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Maintenance of patient records and internship diaries
  • Patient safety and biomedical waste management
  • Rational diagnostic and therapeutic practices including diet and nutrition, acupuncture, acupressure, yoga protocols, massage therapy, and hydrotherapy
  • Medical ethics and professionalism in clinical practice

A special session was conducted by Dr. Rahul Bansal, who emphasized the importance of positive thinking and mental well-being in healthcare practice. He highlighted that positive thinking is not merely an optimistic attitude but an essential psychological tool that enhances patient care, professional effectiveness, and the mental health of healthcare providers.

Objectives of the Program

  • To orient interns regarding the structure and requirements of the compulsory rotating internship.
  • To familiarize interns with their professional responsibilities and clinical duties.
  • To enhance communication and documentation skills.
  • To promote patient safety and ethical clinical practice.
  • To provide guidance on diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in naturopathy and yoga.
  • To encourage professionalism, discipline, and accountability in healthcare delivery.
  • To support the mental well-being and personal development of future healthcare professionals.

Total No. of participants was 24 interns.

The Internship Orientation Program concluded successfully with active participation from all interns. The sessions provided valuable guidance, enhanced professional awareness, and prepared the interns for their clinical responsibilities during the internship period.

Overall, the orientation program proved to be highly informative, motivating, and beneficial in ensuring a smooth transition from academic education to professional practice in the field of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences.
