  Legal Literacy and Awareness Week-2022

To spread awareness among the students, Legal Literacy and Awareness Week-2022 has been  organized by the Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law as it is the constitutional obligation of the  Citizens of India to fulfill their duties towards the Nation. Awareness week is organized from 20/11/22 to  26/11/22.

This awareness week started under the direction of Sh. Rajesh Chandra,Director(Former Judge High  Court of Judicature at Prayagraj) & Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, Dean, Faculty of Law. On this  Occasion Sh. Rajesh Chandra,Director, Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya, motivates the students to  participate in such awareness activities by their valuable words. As per the schedule students actively  participated in Poster Making Completion and 12 students participated. An awareness talk on ‘Know  Your Constitution’ was organized and Ms. Afreen Almas, Assistant Professor elaborately discussed  important facts related to the Indian constitution.

Sensitization Program on girls rights and Constitutional rights was organized on third day 22-11-2022 at  Inter College Shri Saraswati Namah Girls Near Lakhwaya Mandir Rohta Road and Kaushik Inter College,  Village-Mohammadpur Lala, Meerut under the guidance of Director, Subharti Law College Justice Rajesh  Chandra (former judge, High Court of Judicature, Prayagraj, U.P.) & in direction of Prof. Dr. Vaibhav  Goel Bhartiya, Dean, Faculty of Law and Dr. Reena Bishnoi, Professor. This was coordinated by Ms.  Shalini Goel, Lecturer and 07 students of B.A.LL.B (Vth & VIIth Semester) participated in this  program. On Fourth Or Fifth day students actively participated in the youth Parliament. On the Sixth day a quiz  competition was organized on Indian Constitution and General Studies and 40 students participated in the event. There are two stages in the competition, preliminary and final. In the preliminary stage 30 questions  were asked and four teams qualified for the final. In the Final stage there are three rounds: rapid fire, audio and  visual.

On Seventh day on the occasion of National Constitution Day, Seminar was organized on the theme  “India: The Mother of Democracy” at Sardar Patel Auditorium. Dr. D.P. Semwal (IRS) Principal Income  Tax Commissioner (former) was the chief guest of the event whereas Prof. (Dr.) G.K. Thapliayal,  Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, presided over the program.  Justice Sh. Rajesh Chandra, Director and Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav Goel Bhartiya Dean, faculty of Law also  graced the event. Prof. Dr. Sarika Tyagi, Associate Professor was master of the ceremony. All the  dignitaries present on the dais were welcomed by the plant as tradition and commitment of Subharti towards  protection of the environment.

Thereafter all the dignitaries proceed for the lightening of Lamp and after this N. Nathanael &  Malsawmtluangi, students of BA LLB First Semester recites Preamble of Indian Constitution in both  languages Hindi and English respectively.

Dr. Reena Bishnoi delivered a welcome speech to all the dignitaries of the events. Prof. (Dr.) Vaibhav  Goel Bhartiya delivered an Introductory speech and made the audience about the significance of  fundamental duties. He paid rich tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for his peerless contribution in the making  of our Constitution which has guided the destiny of India as a great democracy so far.

Justice Rajesh Chandra, Former Judge & Convener Dr. Ambedkar Chair, SVSU remembered the  sacrifices of the freedom fighters in the freedom struggle of India. He said that the Constitution should be  followed in true spirit.

Dr. D.P. Semwal (IRS), Chief Guest, also encouraged such activities and emphasized the benefits of  such resourceful activities would give multidimensional understanding of a topic. He spoke on  the fundamental rights of the people and the right to equality.

Prof. (Dr.) G.K. Thapliyal, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut,  in his presidential speech blessed and appreciated the initiative to organize such a sensitization program as  a composite effort under a multidisciplinary education system.

In this the prizes were distributed by the Hon’ble guests and dignitaries on the dais which were given to  the participants and winners of “Legal Literacy and Awareness Week-2022”.

Prof.(Dr.) Shokendra Singh, Dean ,Faculty of Pharmacy Prof.(Dr.) Sandeep Kumar,Dean, Faculty of  Education, Prof. (Dr.) Shiv Mohan,Dean, Faculty of Hotel Management, Ms. Afreen Almas (Assistant  Professor) Mr. Vikas Tyagi (Assistant Professor), Ms Ana Sisodiya (Assistant Professor), Mr. Ramesht  Dhar Diwedi (Assistant Professor) Mrs. Prachi Goel (Assistant Professor) Ms. Shalini Goel (Lecturer),  Ms. Anjum Jahan (Lecturer), and other colleges faculty members and students ,Non-teaching staff  attended the program.

Vote of thanks to all the dignitaries was paid by Dr. Prem Chandra, Research Officer, Dr. Ambedkar  Chair, SVSU. Program was ended with the recitation of the National Anthem.
