Faculty Development Training Program on Outcome-Based Education Conducted under IQAC Mandate at SVSU
Meerut, December 25, 2025: Under the mandate of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Faculty of Management & Commerce, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, organized a Faculty Development Training Program on the theme “Workshop on Programme Outcomes (POs) and Course Outcomes (COs)” at the Madan Mohan Malviya Auditorium, SITE. The program was organized under the able guidance and blessings of Prof. (Dr.) Pramod K. Sharma, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, and Prof. (Dr.) Shalya Raj, CEO, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University.
The program aimed to strengthen faculty members’ understanding of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) in alignment with NAAC, with special emphasis on the formulation, development, mapping, and updation of Course Outcomes and Programme Outcomes.
The program commenced with a cordial welcome of dignitaries, followed by the welcome address and overview of objectives by Dr. Vinky Sharma, Senior Associate Professor and Program Coordinator, who highlighted the importance of outcome-oriented curriculum design in enhancing academic quality and ensuring continuous improvement.
The inaugural session included the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing knowledge and enlightenment, followed by the felicitation of resource persons. The Inaugural Address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Padma Misra, Officiating Dean, Faculty of Management & Commerce, who emphasized the role of clearly defined learning outcomes in improving student performance and meeting accreditation benchmarks.
The first technical session on Bloom’s Taxonomy was conducted by Dr. Nisha Singh, Associate Professor, Faculty of Management & Commerce, who elaborated on the cognitive domains, action verbs, and their practical application in framing measurable Course Outcomes.
The second technical session on Development and Updation of Course Outcomes and Programme Outcomes was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Lubhan Singh, Additional Director – Research. The session provided valuable insights into CO–PO mapping, curriculum alignment, documentation, and continuous quality enhancement practices.
An interactive question-and-answer session allowed participants to discuss practical challenges and clarify doubts related to implementation of OBE. The program concluded with a summarization and vote of thanks presented by Prof. (Dr.) Prabhat Kumar, Coordinator of Academic Affairs.
The training program witnessed enthusiastic participation from 113 faculty members representing the Faculty of Management and Commerce, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering, and Hotel Management. The program was widely appreciated for its relevance, clarity, and practical orientation, reaffirming the university’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous quality enhancement.
