Fostering the “Job Creator” Mindset

Acharya Vishnu Gupt Subharti College of Management and Commerce (AVGSCMC) successfully hosted an inspiring guest lecture titled, “The Entrepreneurial Mindset: Idea, Innovation & Opportunity.”

This high-impact session was a joint initiative by the University Career Counselling Cell (UCCC) and the Institutional Innovation Council (IIC), underscoring the university’s commitment to promoting an innovation-driven culture among its students.

Key Takeaways from Dr. Sarika Abhay

The event featured distinguished guest speaker, Dr. Sarika, Member Secretary, University Entrepreneurship Development Cell, who delivered an insightful and motivating address.

Dr. Sarika passionately encouraged students to re-evaluate their professional goals, emphasizing the need to move beyond traditional expectations. Her core message resonated strongly with the audience:

“Students should aspire to become job creators rather than job seekers.

She provided practical guidance on how young professionals can:

  • Nurture an entrepreneurial outlook in today’s evolving economy.
  • Think innovatively to solve real-world problems.
  • Identify market gaps and build sustainable solutions that generate opportunities for others.

Audience Engagement

The lecture saw enthusiastic participation from a wide cross-section of students, including those from MBA I Semester, BBA III & V Semester, and B.Com (Hons.) III & V Semester.

A total of 68 students benefitted from the session. The format was highly interactive, allowing participants to clarify their doubts, explore various perspectives on starting a business, and engage directly with the speaker on topics of innovation and market opportunity.

Organizing Committee

The success of the program was achieved under the guiding leadership of Dr. Gaurab Kumar Sharma (Chairman, UCCC) and Dr. Dolly Vaish (Member Secretary, UCCC). Dr. Nisha Singh efficiently conducted the stage proceedings, ensuring the seamless flow of the event.

The session concluded with a formal vote of thanks, reaffirming the significance of continuous engagement in entrepreneurial education.
