A Vibrant Showcase of French Cultural Heritage titled “Découvrons Les Villes Françaises” (Discovering French Cities) was organized at Department of Languages, Rahul Sankrityayan Subharti School of Linguistics and Foreign Languages, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the HR Lab, Department of Languages. The programme was conducted for the students of the French Language Course with the aim of enriching their linguistic abilities through cultural exploration and presentation-based learning.
The activity sought to move beyond conventional classroom practices by immersing students in the vibrant cultural and geographical landscape of France. Students prepared and delivered PowerPoint presentations under the guidance of ms. Jyoti Yadav , French Trainer on renowned French cities such as Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Strasbourg, and Versailles, highlighting their historical significance, iconic landmarks, regional culture, cuisine, and unique features. French Language students actively presented their selected cities: Sanjeev Yadav – Lyon, Palak – Toulouse, Mohit Kumar – Paris, Zoya Ruhail – Versailles, Khushi Arora – Bordeaux, and Nishtha Vashistha – Strasbourg.
The event was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Rafat Khanam, In-charge of English and Foreign Languages, whose encouragement and vision played a key role in the successful execution of the activity. Dr. Seema Sharma, Head of the Department of Languages, motivated students to participate with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Objectives of the Event:
- To inspire students to explore the cultural and geographical tapestry of France through independent research and thoughtful presentation.
- To cultivate confidence in spoken French by encouraging the expressive use of vocabulary related to cities, heritage, and travel.

Students found the activity highly engaging and intellectually stimulating, noting that it enhanced both their presentation skills and their command over French vocabulary. Faculty members appreciated the originality and effort reflected in the presentations and reaffirmed the importance of such experiential learning practices in language education.
