Gender Sensitization in the Hospitality Industry: “Why it matters”

An initiative by Bhikaji Cama Subharti College of Hotel Management (BCSCHM) and UCCC – University Career Council Committee

Bhikaji Cama Subharti College of Hotel Management (BCSCHM), in collaboration with the University Career Council Committee (UCCC), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, successfully organized an awareness session on “Gender Sensitization in the Hospitality Industry: Why it matters” on 23rd February, 2026, at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the college. The session commenced at 10:00 AM onwards and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.

The session was delivered by Mr. Harendra, Head of Department, Dewan V.S. Institute of Hotel Management & Technology (DVSIHMT), who served as the distinguished speaker. He shared valuable insights into the importance of gender sensitization and its relevance in the hospitality sector, emphasizing the need for equality, respect, and professionalism in workplace environments.

During the session, the speaker highlighted the role of hospitality professionals in fostering inclusive and respectful workspaces. He explained that gender sensitization is essential for maintaining ethical standards, promoting mutual respect, and ensuring a safe and professional environment for both employees and guests. The discussion also focused on how awareness and sensitivity toward gender-related issues contribute to professional growth, workplace harmony, and organizational success.
