One-Day Guest Lecture on the insightful topic Indian Art Culture and Religion”December 5th 2025.
The Department of Fine Arts, Nandalal Bose Subharti College of Fine Arts & Fashion Design, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, successfully organized a thought-provoking One Day Guest Lecture on “Indian Art Culture and Religion” December 5th 2025.
The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The guest was felicitated with a plant sapling by Dean Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra, while the Academic Coordinator Dr. Vandana Tomar honored the guest with a traditional stole . The event Coordinated by Dr. Vandana Tomar ( Academic coordinator, Department of Fine Arts) with the guidance and support of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar Sharma, Chief Executive Officer Prof. (Dr.) Shalya Raj, and Dean Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra and Prof(Dr.) Pooja Gupta (Head of Department ).
The distinguished guest speaker, prof.(Dr.) Vandana verma ji , head of deapartment JKP (P.g) College ,Muzaffar Nagar delivered an insightful lecture highlighting the profound symbolic, aesthetic, philosophical, Indian Art Culture and Religion by prof.(Dr.) Vandana verma ji , head of deapartment JKP (P.g) College ,Muzaffar Nagar During the session, students were introduced to the major Indian religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism, and their depiction in artworks like Ajanta murals, Sanchi Stupa carvings, Khajuraho temples, Chola bronzes, and Mughal art. The talk also discussed the relevance of art in modern society and the need to preserve traditional crafts and cultural practices through research and creative expression.
The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. A question–answer session allowed students to share views, ask queries, and engage with the theme creatively. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Vandana Tomar, Academic Coordinator, and Department of fine arts appreciating the meaningful insights shared during the lecture.
The lecture witnessed active participation from faculty members, students, , who deeply appreciated and benefitted from the enriching discourse. The success of the program was made possible through the dedicated contributions of Dr. Pavanendra Tiwari, Mr.Krishan Kumar , Dr.Sunny Sharma, Lakshay Kumar,, Mr. Lucky Tyagi, all faculty members.
