Meerut, March 17, 2026 — The Faculty of Management and Commerce (FoMC) at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), through its Acharya Vishnu Gupt Subharti College of Management & Commerce (AVGSCMC), in collaboration with the University Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), successfully organized a highly interactive Guest Lecture on “The Lean Startup in Practice: Real-world lessons on pivoting, bootstrapping, and scaling without losing core values” today at AVGSCMC, SVSU.
The session featured Ms. Prachi Premi, Chairperson – Women Wing, Indian Industries Association (IIA) Meerut and Founder-Owner of Prachi Foods Pvt. Ltd., as the esteemed expert speaker. Drawing from her own entrepreneurial journey, Ms. Premi delivered an insightful and practical talk that resonated deeply with the students. She shared real-life challenges faced while building and scaling her enterprise, along with actionable examples of successful pivoting, bootstrapping techniques, and maintaining core values during growth phases.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Sarika Abhay, Member Secretary & EDC Coordinator, University Entrepreneurship Development Cell, SVSU. She highlighted the university’s commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students.
Dr. Preeti Singhwal, Assistant Professor, AVGSCMC, SVSU, formally introduced the guest speaker and set the context for the session.
The lecture was followed by an engaging Question & Answer round where students enthusiastically interacted with Ms. Prachi Premi, seeking clarifications on startup hurdles, funding strategies, and work-life balance as women entrepreneurs.
Prof. (Dr.) Padma Misra, Officiating Dean, Faculty of Management & Commerce (FoMC), SVSU, addressed the gathering and motivated students to make full use of the university’s robust startup ecosystem. She specifically urged participants to leverage available incubation facilities, mentorship programmes, and various government schemes designed to support young entrepreneurs.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across diverse streams — Engineering, Polytechnic, and Management — reflecting the interdisciplinary appeal of entrepreneurship at SVSU.
The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Gaurab Kumar Sharma, IIC Coordinator (FoMC), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. He expressed gratitude to the guest speaker, dignitaries, and students for making the programme a grand success and reiterated the university’s vision of transforming students into job creators rather than job seekers.
