Under the leadership of Dr. Monika Mehrotra, Convenor of the Swami Vivekanand Research Chair, the initiative included the distribution of free Tiranga flags to the nearby villages. This effort was in alignment with Swami Vivekanand’s profound words, “I am an Indian, and every Indian is my brother,” and sought to instill a sense of national pride and unity among the local community.
The program began with a heartfelt tribute to Swami Vivekanand ji, where flowers were offered in his honor. This was followed by the distribution of the Tiranga flags to students, faculty members, and the residents of neighboring villages. Dr. Monika Mehrotra, while addressing the gathering, emphasized that the Swami Vivekanand Research Chair is deeply committed to upholding the philosophy of Swami Vivekanand ji, who believed that “the only religion that is fashionable is patriotism.”
The event culminated with the participants taking the pledge of the Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan, reaffirming their commitment to the nation and the values it upholds.
