A guest lecture on “Innovation & Entrepreneurship: How Designers Can Leverage Seed Funding” was organized by the Department of Fashion, Textile and Interior Design under the Entrepreneurship Cell and Institution’s Innovation Council on 28 November 2025 at Amrita Shergil Conference Hall, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut. The session aimed to inspire and orient young design professionals toward startup ecosystems, innovation-driven thinking, and seed-funding opportunities to convert their ideas into scalable design ventures. The event focused on funding pathways, understanding investor expectations, building credible prototypes, structuring pitch decks, and approaching seed-grant mechanisms effectively. Emphasis was placed on how designers can leverage early-stage funding to transform creative concepts into market-ready solutions while aligning with national innovation and entrepreneurship goals.
The program aimed to strengthen participants’ confidence in accessing formal funding channels, exploring incubation support, and understanding that seed funding serves as a catalyst for experimentation, validation, and product commercialization in the design sector.

Prof. (Dr.) Pintu Mishra (Dean & Principal, Nandlal Bose Subharti College of Fine Arts and Fashion Design)   applauded the speaker for her academic contribution, entrepreneurial insights, and guidance in promoting design-led innovation and startup awareness among youth.

The lecture and interaction were led by the esteemed resource person Dr. Anuradha Arya, supported by HOD Dr. Neha Singh and coordinated under the Entrepreneurship Cell and IIC initiative of the institute.

The session began with the welcome address and introduction of the keynote speaker, where Dr. Arya sensitized students to diverse seed-funding avenues including pitch preparation, documentation, ideation frameworks, academic-industry collaboration models, incubation support, and essentials of fund-ready presentation. She further conducted a hands-on workshop on how to approach seed funding with design business case structuring, early-stage validation models, and investor communication strategies.

The lecture concluded with an insightful and interactive Q&A segment where students explored clarity on funding formats, idea defensibility, budget structuring, market feasibility, and roadmap planning.

Overall, the session proved to be a significant engagement toward nurturing startup mindsets, innovation capacity, and entrepreneurial aspirations among design students, reinforcing the university’s commitment to entrepreneurship-driven education and design-led economic contribution.

This event was successfully coordinated by Ms. Shradha Yadav, Dr. Surabhi Das, Dr. Arpana Kamboj, Ms. Anisha Anand, Ms. Devsuni and Ms. Abhilasha.
