Department of Physical Education Organizes Expert Lecture on “Intellectual Property Rights and A.I. Learning”

The Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University successfully organized an Expert Lecture on “Intellectual Property Rights and A.I. Learning” on 13 May 2026 at the Seminar Hall, Faculty of Education. The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students regarding intellectual property rights, innovation, research ethics, and the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) in education and learning systems.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Manju Adhikari, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Physical Education, who felicitated the distinguished Resource Person, Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Assistant Professor, CSSS PG College, Machra, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, by presenting a ceremonial shawl (Padtka) and a sapling as a token of respect and gratitude.

The lecture was successfully coordinated under the convenorship of Dr. Deepak Raghav, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, whose efforts ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the programme. All faculty members of the department were also present during the session and actively supported the event.

During the lecture, Dr. Sanjay Kumar shared valuable insights regarding Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), copyrights, patents, trademarks, research ethics, and the importance of protecting original ideas and innovations in academic and professional fields. He also highlighted the emerging role of Artificial Intelligence in modern education, research, digital learning, and knowledge management.

The resource person discussed how A.I.-based technologies are transforming teaching-learning methodologies, research practices, and professional development across disciplines. Students were introduced to various applications of Artificial Intelligence in education, sports sciences, and academic research. The session also emphasized ethical and responsible use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in educational environments.

Approximately 55 students actively participated in the programme and interacted with the resource person through questions and discussions. The lecture proved highly informative and beneficial for students as it enhanced their understanding regarding intellectual property awareness, innovation protection, and technological advancements in education.

The Department of Physical Education expressed sincere gratitude to the respected resource person for conducting a highly enriching and insightful session. The programme reflected the department’s commitment towards promoting research awareness, digital literacy, innovation, and quality education in alignment with NAAC quality initiatives and NEP 2020 objectives.
