Women Empowerment Committee and Department of Physical Education Organizes Expert Talk on “Women Empowerment: Empowered Women Empower the World”
The Women Empowerment Committee, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, in association with the Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, successfully organized an Expert Talk on “Women Empowerment: Empowered Women Empower the World” on 15 May 2026 at the Seminar Hall, Faculty of Education. The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness regarding women empowerment, gender equality, leadership development, and the role of women in shaping a progressive and empowered society.
The programme was graced by the esteemed Resource Person, Dr. Poonam Bhandari, Associate Professor, Major Dhyan Chand University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The session commenced with a formal welcome by Dr. Manju Adhikari, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Physical Education, who acted as the Convenor of the programme and formally welcomed and introduced the distinguished guest to the audience.
As a gesture of respect and appreciation, Dr. Pintu Misra, Officiating Dean, Faculty of Education, honoured the guest speaker with a ceremonial shawl and a flower sapling. Faculty members and students enthusiastically attended the programme and contributed to its successful conduct.
During the expert talk, Dr. Poonam Bhandari delivered an insightful and motivational lecture focusing on the importance of women empowerment in education, sports, leadership, and social development. She emphasized the role of empowered women in creating positive transformation within families, communities, and society. The speaker highlighted the significance of education, self-confidence, leadership qualities, equal opportunities, and economic independence in empowering women across all sectors.
The resource person also discussed various challenges faced by women in contemporary society and encouraged students to promote gender equality, social awareness, and inclusive participation in education and professional fields. Practical examples, inspiring experiences, and motivational discussions made the session highly engaging and thought-provoking for the participants.
Interactive discussions and question-answer sessions enabled students to actively interact with the speaker and express their views regarding women’s empowerment, safety, leadership, and professional growth opportunities. The programme created an inspiring and awareness-oriented learning environment for all participants.
Approximately 30 participants attended the programme enthusiastically and gained valuable insights regarding women empowerment, leadership development, and social responsibility. The expert talk proved highly informative and motivational, encouraging students to contribute positively towards building an equitable and empowered society.
The Women Empowerment Committee and the Department of Physical Education expressed sincere gratitude to the distinguished Resource Person and respected dignitaries for making the programme highly successful and impactful. The event reflected the institution’s commitment towards gender sensitization, holistic education, social awareness, and empowerment initiatives in alignment with NAAC quality initiatives, NEP 2020 objectives, and Sustainable Development Goals.
