One Day Workshop on “How to Introduce Yourself”

A workshop on How to Introduce Yourself was organized by the Subharti Department of Political Science and Sociology on 1st April 2022 (Friday) from 2:00- 4:00 pm. The workshop started with the inaugural speech of the Dean Faculty of Arts and Social Science, Prof. Dr. Neeraj Karan Singh. Dr. Manoj Kumar Tripathi, Head, Subharti Department of political science and sociology 

Delivered a welcome speech and aroused the interest of students in attending such events in the future. The program was coordinated by Dr. Rafat Khanam, Associate Professor, Faculty of arts and social sciences. The workshop was conducted with the motive to develop the public speaking skills of students. Dr. Rafat Khanam provided a detailed description of the intricacies of a formal introduction. In her lecture, Dr. Rafat Khanam said, good speaking skills are very important for the overall development of personality. She motivated students to develop basic employability skills in themselves. She emphasized that English should not be our deficiency during the recruitment process. Students should include their name, place, educational qualification, their achievements: academics and sports, goals – short and long term, strengths and weaknesses. Students were guided to include honors, awards, and recognitions in their introduction. They were asked to update their introduction now and then. At last, they were given a task to submit their introduction in detail. After the lecture, the questionnaire session was welcomed by the students and students practiced their own introduction following the instructions given to them during the workshop. Tashi Dem (B.A. 2nd year) presented her introduction and followed the guidelines. Also thanked the department for organizing such a learning and interactive session. Another student of B. A (2nd year), Juhi Dixit also participated in the presentation and shared her views about the learnings from the event. Dr. Durvesh Kumar, Assistant Professor, Subharti Department of Political Science and Sociology also motivated students to use the workshop guidelines in their professional lives. At last, a formal vote of thanks was presented by Mrs. Shruti Nagar, Assistant Professor, Subharti Department of Political Science and Sociology. The program successfully ended with the desired goal, vigor, and enthusiasm of the students.
