DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION HOSTS KHELO INDIA DIALOGUE – LIVE TELECAST OF PM MODI’S ADDRESS TO YOUTH
Meerut: The Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, hosted the “Khelo India Dialogue – Khel Ki Baat, PM Modi Ke Saath,” on 27 August 2026 at 10:30 AM, as part of the National Sports Day 2026 celebrations initiated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, in association with the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and MY Bharat.
Students and faculty members of the Department gathered to witness the live broadcast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s virtual address to the youth of the nation, organized as part of a wider nationwide initiative to connect students and young sportspersons directly with the Prime Minister’s vision for sport and youth development ahead of National Sports Day.
Following the Prime Minister’s address, the Department facilitated a Yuva Samvaad session, encouraging students to actively deliberate on key focus areas identified for the dialogue, namely Civic Mindedness, Future-Ready Skills, New-Age Volunteering, and MY Bharat Platform Strengthening. Students participated enthusiastically in the discussion, sharing their perspectives on youth engagement and national development.
As part of the initiative, students were encouraged to submit their ideas and suggestions through the MY Bharat Portal using the QR codes displayed at the venue, thereby contributing directly to the national dialogue on youth participation and development.
The Department also undertook a dedicated onboarding drive, directing eligible students and youth in the 15–29 age group to register on the official MY Bharat Portal (mybharat.gov.in), enabling their participation in ongoing national initiatives under the MY Bharat platform.
In addition, students were mobilized to participate in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027, including the nationwide Viksit Bharat Quiz, live on the MY Bharat Portal from 17 August to 16 September 2026, and the subsequent tracks leading up to the National Youth Festival 2027. The Department encouraged maximum student participation in this initiative, in keeping with the University’s continued commitment to youth engagement and national development programmes.
The event was coordinated under the overall guidance of Dr. Manju Adhikari, Head, Department of Physical Education and Mr. Sanjith Tk Who technically handled along with active support from the faculty members of the Department, who ensured smooth conduct of the screening, the Yuva Samvaad discussion, and the student registration and onboarding process.
The Department of Physical Education reaffirmed its commitment to actively participating in national initiatives that connect students with the broader vision of Khelo India and Viksit Bharat, as Sports Week 2026 continues towards its culmination with National Sports Day 2026 on 29 August 2026.
