Lecture on “Introduction of Legal Luminaries”
Dr. Ambedkar Chair, Swami Vivekananda Subharti University, Meerut Organizes a lecture on the topic “Introduction of Legal Luminaries” on 21.08.2024 in L.T.-1, Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law at 10:30AM onwards. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Ajay Raj Singh, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Law.
During the lecture he said that a legal luminary is a person in the legal field who is well-respected and prominent. They are known for their expertise, ability to explain complex legal concepts, and for influencing jurisprudence. They may also inspire others through their contributions. After that, he highlighted the life struggle and contribution of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in shaping the constitutional and legal system of India. He said that Dr. B.R. Ambedkar played very important role in the framing of the constitution of India and the Hindu code also. He was very staunch supporter of the right of female. He said that the progress of society should be measured as the progress of women in that society. Therefore, Dr. Ambedkar wanted to get passed the Hindu code bill from the Parliament.
After that he also highlighted the role, struggle and contribution of Justice HR Khanna, Justice of Supreme Court of India. He said that “Late Justice H.R. Khanna epitomised the fight against injustice during the National Emergency, safeguarding the rights and freedoms of the Indian people. His courageous dissent in the ADM Jabalpur v. Shivkant Shukla case underscored his unwavering commitment to constitutional principles, values and the morality of the constitution as taking by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar during framing of the constitution.
