Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Subharti Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University organized a session on “Media and Literature” on January 14, 2026,. The program was coordinated by Assistant Professor Ms. Shelly Sharma.
On this occasion, Dr. Rafat Khanam, Associate Professor, Department of Languages, was present as the chief guest and keynote speaker. Dr. Rafat Khanam was warmly welcomed by the faculty members by presenting a sapling as a symbol of respect and environmental awareness.
During her lecture, Dr. Rafat Khanam emphasized that in the present digital era, access to literature has become much easier through various media platforms. She stated that literature gains wider recognition and dissemination through media, and every idea related to social reform is an integral part of literature. She further highlighted that media and literature are deeply interconnected. Advising students, she stressed the importance of being alert, responsible, and ethical while reading, writing, or sharing content on social media.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who actively raised questions. Dr. Rafat Khanam responded to their queries with insightful and meaningful explanations. The programme was efficiently anchored by student Janvi Kaur.
At the end of the programme, the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Ram Prakash Tiwari, Assistant Professor.
