Legal Aid Camp and Awareness Program 

Sardar Patel Subharti Institute of Law organizes the Legal Aid Camp and Awareness Program on  the topic of Government welfare schemes and new criminal laws. The Law club/Free Legal Aid Cell  of Subharti Law College, University (SVSU), Meerut on the direction of DLSA, under the  leadership of Dean Faculty of law and under the direction of Director Subharti Institute of Law  organized a free legal aid camp in the village Pepla Idrishpur, Block Rohta with the help of Mr.  Rahul Sirohi. The primary objective of the camp was to raise awareness about the availability of  free legal services, various government schemes, and new criminal laws among the villagers.The  camp began with an awareness session led by the convener Law Club Dr. Sarika Tyagi with the  team of students, who explained the role of the Subharti Free Legal aid clinic of Subharti Law  College in facilitating access to justice for those unable to afford legal representation. Mr.  Himanshu Panwar detailed how various government schemes could be accessed and availed by the  local community. Mr. Gautam Aanand told about the schemes for senior citizens and Mohd Uvais  told about health schemes of the government and Ms. Anamika Bishnoi told about the social  security schemes for women and the whole team provided detailed information on various social  welfare schemes initiated by the government, including those related to health, education, and  financial assistance. Villagers were guided on how to apply for these schemes through platforms  like my Scheme and the National Portal of India. The camp included a session on the new criminal  laws, namely the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya  Sakshya Adhiniyam, which replaced the Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and  Indian Evidence Act. The new laws were discussed, including the introduction of community  service as punishment for petty offences, the definition of terrorism etc. The legal aid camp was a  significant step towards empowering the villagers with knowledge of their rights and access to  justice. The event successfully raised awareness about the availability of free legal services,  various government schemes, and the new criminal laws. The villagers were encouraged to take  full advantage of the benefits provided by the government.
