Mass Pledge-Taking Programme and Awareness Rally under “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat – Sankalp Abhiyan”Organise by Department of Physical Education

The Department of Physical Education, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, organized a Mass Pledge-Taking Programme and Awareness Rally under the “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat – Sankalp Abhiyan” with the objective of creating awareness among youth about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse and encouraging them to contribute towards building a healthy and drug-free society.

The programme was conducted with the enthusiastic participation of students of the Department of Physical Education along with NCC cadets. The initiative provided a platform for students to demonstrate their commitment towards the national vision of a Drug-Free India and to spread awareness about the importance of healthy and responsible living.

During the Mass Pledge-Taking Ceremony, the participants collectively took the pledge to refrain from consuming harmful or intoxicating substances in any form and to encourage others to stay away from drugs. They further resolved to actively contribute towards building a Nasha Mukt Bharat (Drug-Free India) by creating awareness among their family members, friends, relatives, neighbours, and other members of society about the harmful consequences of substance abuse.

The pledge also emphasized the responsibility of youth in promoting healthy values and becoming positive contributors to society. The participants expressed their commitment to building an aware, empowered, healthy, and drug-free youth community and to supporting the vision of “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat.”

Following the pledge-taking ceremony, an Awareness Rally was organized with the participation of students and NCC cadets. The rally carried the message of drug-free living, healthy lifestyles, and responsible citizenship to the wider community. Through their active participation, the students encouraged particularly the youth to reject substance abuse and adopt a positive, productive, and healthy way of life.

The programme was organized under the guidance of Dean Professor Pintu Mishra and Dr. Manju Adhikari, Head, Department of Physical Education. Dr. Praveen Kumar, Dr. Deepak Raghav, Dr. Atul Tiwari, Mr. Subham Rathi, Dr. Nishant, Mr. Sharad Panwar, Ms. Deepanshu Choudhary, Mr. Sanjith T. K., Mohd .Sartaj and Mr.Lalit , Mr.Rahul Kumar were present on the occasion and actively supported the successful conduct of the programme.

The teaching and non-teaching staff members of the Department also participated in and extended their support to the initiative. Their collective involvement reflected the Department’s commitment towards promoting health, discipline, social responsibility, and awareness among young people.

The programme concluded with a strong message that creating a drug-free society requires the collective efforts of students, teachers, educational institutions, families, and the wider community. The Mass Pledge-Taking Programme and Awareness Rally successfully motivated the participants to become responsible and aware citizens and to contribute actively towards realizing the vision of “Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat.”
