A Live session talk on “World IP Day Special Session by Dr Abhay Jere & Dr. Mohit Gambhir – Why IP is important in academia?” and it was broadcasted at MHRD’S Innovation Council( MIC) through online live session on 26th April 2021 by Institute Innovation Council (IIC) at Subharti Institute of Technology and Engineering, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut.In the talk, Dr Abhay Jere said that there are 40000 Institutes in India and inspite of that only 10% Institutes are filing patents.It was discussed that it is not shortage of talent but shortage of guidance and hence such events are required.In his session Dr Gambhir stressed on the fact about the importance of Intellectual Property rights in India.He sighted successful Indian Engineers who scaled great heights and also maintained top notch contribution in terms of IP.The session also included the need of IP in Academics as well.The session concluded with guidance on how to integrate research management with IP.The faculty members joined in the interactive session with zeal and enthusiasm.
