AVGSCMC Successfully Organizes Intra-University Nukkad Natak Competition to Honor Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad’s 95th Martyrdom Day
The Acharya Vishnu Gupt Subharti College of Management & Commerce (AVGSCMC), Faculty of Management & Commerce (FoMC), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, successfully hosted an enthralling Intra-University Nukkad Natak Competition on February 27, 2026, commemorating the 95th martyrdom day of the legendary freedom fighter Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad. The event, held at AVGSCMC, brought together students from various programs to pay tribute through powerful street theatre performances, igniting patriotic fervor among participants and audiences alike.
The competition started with a warm welcome and introduction by Co-Convener Dr. Gaurab Kumar Sharma, Associate Professor, AVGSCMC. Dr. Sharma briefed the gathering about the event’s significance, extended a heartfelt welcome to all attendees, and elaborated on the theme: “Chandrashekhar Azad – The Eternal Revolutionary.” Highlighting Azad’s indomitable spirit and his iconic motto, “Azad hi rahe hain, aur Azad hi rahenge,” Dr. Sharma set the tone for a day filled with creativity and reverence.
Dean FoMC, Prof. (Dr.) Padma Misra, graced the occasion and delivered an inspiring address, motivating the participants and audience. She emphasized the importance of such cultural events in fostering national pride and the value of remembering our historic heroes like Azad, who sacrificed their lives for India’s freedom at the tender age of 24.
The competition witnessed outstanding performances from student teams across the university, all executed with great zeal and adherence to the theme. After intense deliberations, the results were announced as follows:
- 1st Position: Students of Subharti Medical College
- 2nd Position: Students of AVGSCMC
- 3rd Position: Students of Subharti Engineering College
The esteemed judges for the event were Dr. Seema Dixit, Associate Professor, Faculty of AYUSH, and Dr. Seema Negi, Associate Professor, Subharti Medical College, who evaluated the performances based on criteria including theme adherence, script quality, acting skills, and creativity.
The event’s seamless execution was made possible through the invaluable support of Dr. Sarika and Dr. Nisha Singh, both Associate Professors at AVGSCMC, whose dedication ensured a memorable and impactful program.
This competition not only celebrated Azad’s legacy but also encouraged students to engage with India’s revolutionary history through artistic expression, reinforcing the university’s commitment to holistic education.
