Nukkad Natak on “Reuse of Bags in line with Sustainable Development Goals”

The Department of Languages, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University organized a Nukkad Natak on the theme “Reuse of Bags in line with Sustainable Development Goals,” incorporating SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action) on 13 April 2026. The programme aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable lifestyle practices among students and the wider community.

The street play was performed by students Bhoomi Gupta, Kanishka Gautam, Anushka Sharma, and Chhavi Tyagi who delivered an impactful and thought-provoking presentation. Through expressive acting and engaging dialogue, they highlighted the environmental hazards caused by excessive plastic usage and emphasized the importance of adopting reusable cloth bags. The performance effectively communicated the urgency of responsible consumption and inspired the audience to adopt eco-friendly alternatives in their daily lives.

The event was graced by the presence of Head of Department Dr. Seema Sharma, along with Dr. Rafat Khanam, Dr. Manisha Luthra, Dr. Swati Sharma, Dr. Ashish, Dr. Nishi Singh, Dr. Preeti Sharma, Mr. Ankit, Ms. Bhavana Joshi, and Ms. Soni Chauhan, as well as a large number of students. All attendees appreciated the efforts of the performers and acknowledged the relevance of such awareness-driven programmes in contemporary society.

The programme successfully sensitized students towards environmental responsibility and highlighted the practical importance of reducing plastic waste in everyday life. It also encouraged active participation and community-oriented thinking, aligning academic activities with real-world sustainability challenges and solutions.

The programme concluded successfully and was widely appreciated for its educational value and social relevance.
