Report on Orientation Programme 2024

The orientation programme for the newly admitted students of MHMCT, BHMCT, B.Voc (H & T), BTTM, B.Sc.C.A. and Diploma programmes was organized from 12th Aug, 2024 to 20th Aug, 2024. Students were formally welcomed and introduced to the culture of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University.

Introduction about College, Programmes and Teachers
The orientation began with a welcome speech by Head of Institution Prof. (Dr.) Shiv Mohan Verma,
followed by brief details By Dr. Indraneel about:

• College & Facilities
• Programmes running at BCSCHM
• CBCS in the curriculum
• Evaluation pattern
• Rules & Regulations

After this, faculty members were introduced by Prof. (Dr.) Shiv Mohan Verma.

Lecture on Introduction to Hospitality Industry: A brief introduction about Hospitality Industry, its origin, types of hotels and other fundamentals of hotel were given to the students of Subharti College of Hotel Management to make them ready for Hospitality Industry.

 Hotel Management College Show Round: Students of Subharti College of Hotel Management visited the practical labs, departmental library, computer labs, studio kitchen and offices learnt about operations.

Daily Yoga Sessions from 13-16 Aug, Yoga session was organized for students to impart health and mental benefits. Yoga helps clear the mind, which can give students a break from the constant social atmosphere of college. Practicing getting to a quiet mind space can make it easier to concentrate when reading, studying and sitting through lectures. Large no. of students gathered to participate in Yoga Session.

Guest Lecture on “Career Prospects in Hotel Industry”: Joining a world class Hotel is a dream of every aspiring Hotel Management student. To fulfill this dream Subharti College of Hotel Management took the first step by organizing a Guest Lecture on Career Prospects in Hotel Industry in association with THE MARS RESORTS, Meerut. where students were introduced about the various career opportunities in the hospitality industry. Mr. Ajit Kumar Singh was the speaker during this session.

Har Ghar Tiranga-Selfie with Tiranga: Hotel Management students enthusiastically participated in the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign proudly took selfies with the Indian flag to celebrate India’s independence and expressed their patriotism.

78^th Independence Day Celebration at University level: Students of Subharti College of Hotel Management participated in the 78^th Independence Day Celebration and it was observed as a Prayer and Commitment Day at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University.

 Guest Lecture on “Environment Friendly Practices”: A guest lecture on “Environment Friendly Practices” by Dr. Mukesh Ruhela was held for Hotel Management students, focusing on sustainable practices in the hospitality industry and the importance of eco-friendly operations.

Poster Making on “Ragging: Don’t Support but Report” Hotel Management students participated in a poster-making activity themed “Ragging: Don’t Support but Report.” The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of ragging and encourage reporting such incidents to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all. Students showcased their creativity by preparing eye-opening posters.

 Guest Lecture on Personality Development: Personality Development is an integral part of Hospitality Industry, from the beginning; we have started the classes on Personality Development for the students so that they can better understanding the value of the same.

 University Show-round
New students were taken to campus tour of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, where they learnt about whereabouts of the University (Offices, Playgrounds, Canteens and Hostels). Students visited the central Library of the University.
