DEPARTMENT OF MUSCULOSKELETAL PHYSIOTHERAPY ORGANISED PHYSIOTHERAPY CAMP AT SARDAR VALLABHBHAI PATEL UNIVERSITY, MODIPURAM, MEERUT
The Department of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Jyotirao Phule Subharti College of Physiotherapy (JPSCP), Swami Vivekanand Subharti University (SVSU), Meerut, successfully organized a “Physiotherapy Camp and Awareness Program” at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University, Modipuram, Meerut on 8th May 2026 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM under the initiative of Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR). The program was conducted with the objective of creating awareness regarding musculoskeletal health, posture correction, prevention of lifestyle-related disorders, and the importance of physiotherapy in maintaining physical well-being among university staff and students. The camp was organized under the supervision and guidance of Prof.(Dr.) Danish Nouman, Head, Department of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, JPSCP, SVSU. The activity was coordinated by Dr. Apoorva Yadav, Assistant Professor, Department of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, along with the active participation of postgraduate students and faculty members. A total of 32 participants benefited from the camp, including university staff members, students, and other attendees. During the camp, detailed physiotherapy assessments were conducted for individuals suffering from common musculoskeletal complaints such as neck pain, low back pain, shoulder stiffness, knee pain, postural imbalance, and work-related ergonomic issues. Participants were educated about correct posture, ergonomic modifications, stretching exercises, and preventive strategies to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders caused by prolonged sitting, improper workstation setup, and sedentary lifestyles. The organizing team also demonstrated therapeutic exercises, posture correction techniques, and basic self-management strategies that participants could incorporate into their daily routine for maintaining musculoskeletal fitness. Individual counseling sessions were conducted to provide personalized advice regarding exercise prescription, lifestyle modification, and pain management techniques. Participants showed enthusiastic involvement throughout the activity and appreciated the practical guidance provided by the physiotherapy team. The camp served as an excellent platform for promoting awareness about the role of physiotherapy in prevention, rehabilitation, and health promotion. It also strengthened community outreach and academic collaboration between JPSCP, SVSU, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University. The activity reflected the institution’s commitment towards social responsibility, community service, and holistic healthcare awareness. Overall, the program was conducted successfully and received positive feedback from all participants and organizers.
