Plantation Drive by University Environment Committee

The University Environmental Committee, Swami Vivekanand Subharti University Meerut, organised a plantation drive to promote environmental sustainability by increasing green cover, improving air quality, and conserving biodiversity. It aims to combat climate change, prevent soil erosion, and enhance the natural habitat, fostering a healthier ecosystem and a greener future for communities. The drive was organized under the guidance of HonourableVice Chancellor Major General Dr. G.K. Thapliyal,, and Prof (Dr.)Shalya Raj, Chief Executive Officer of the University.

 Dr.MukeshRuhela welcomed Dr.Himanshu Aeron, Pro Vice Chancellor, to the plantation drive. The event witnessed active participation from students, faculty members, and staff, with more than 150 attendees from various colleges and institutes of the university. The event starts at 9:30 AM with the first plantation done by Dr.Himanshu Aeron, Pro Vice Chancellor, after that, the plantation drive was done on the campus of Swami Vivekanand Subharti University by students and faculty members of different colleges. All the University Environment Committee members were present in the plantation dive as Dr MukeshRuhela, Dr SanchitPradhan, Dr SwetaBhardwaj, Er K. K. Sharma, Dr Jyoti, and Mr.Harshvardhankaushik.

Mr. A.C. Pathak, Horticulture Manager, was also present during the plantation drive. The coordination of all committee members and the horticulture department made the event a success. More than 100 students were present at the event.

Prof. (Dr.) MukeshRuhela motivates the students to participate in this type of event and also discusses the importance of plantations for our planet.
